Power / Harely Rake/Soil Cultivator

Hi, I'm looking to build a power rake/harely rake similar attachment for my Toro Dingo. I know toro sell a Soil Cultivator which is what I'm trying to replicate.

What I'm looking to use it for is to rip up soil and prepare it for seed/sod, etc. What I like about the Soil Cultivator is that clumps of grass/rocks get buried 3-4" down and leaves nice clean soil on top.

I don't mind making a harely rake though that would would collect the material (rocks, clumps) in a box.


One question is from looking at how the roller/tines are designed/work, I guess the soil is just dropped on top of the debri or is the debri pushed into the ground under the soil?

The Power Rake/Soil conidtioner has several rows of short carbide teeth and position just above the tooth height is a stationary plate that prevents and material larger than the tooth height from going over top of the drum. The drum busts of the clods, throws the dirt over top of the drum, and pushes the large debris ahead of it. Side plates at the end of the drum keep this material from falling off around the end of the drum. If you have angle adjustment you can take a side plate off and use it to windrow the debris then come back and pick it up.

Thanks for that info. Makes sense now.

I think for the design I'm going to goto my local sunbelt rentals, they have one, and take some measurements and copy it as close as possible so it works as good burring that material.
