The biggest con is that you have to go thru distributors and can稚 buy directly. Never worked so hard to give money to someone. Dan Danuser got involved and made the sale happen.

I ran into that same problem when trying to find a Danuser Hammer post driver near me. I also ended up calling Danuser directly and they found me one. The only downside was that I had to drive a couple hours to Georgia to get it but I got a good deal so it all worked out. Danuser makes a good product and great customer service.

Finally got time to swap the flat face couplers that came with it to pioneer couplers. Impressively powerful grip force from the teeth, the first tree I grabbed was a maybe 3 inch sweet gum and it simply sheared off below the jaws. The movement is very controllable, I would almost say slow but need more time running it to see. Very impressed and glad to have spent the money. 20201105_154109.jpg

My first thought on seeing that was how much more useful it would be if it could be rotated so the jaws were vertical.

If I dump the curl cylinder the jaws do go vertical. I imagine that will be used to pull things behind the tractor as it travels in reverse.

Could possibly bend the curl cylinder rods with that position and dragging momentum if not careful. Bigger stuff grab underneath with the puller curled back.

I just received my order from last week, ordered 10/29 and delivered on 11/5. I put a note on the order requesting Ag connectors and it came with them versus the flat face skid steer ones for no additional charge. Also got the $999 grapple and a set of forks. I ran the grapple for an hour yesterday and am happy. Will get the puller out after the weekend. I have 200+ old tposts to pull as my first job for it.

Looking forward to see how it works for you. I also had a top push bar on my STP25, and I put white electical tape on the side of the fixed jaw so I can line it up and know exactly where to aim it. I found that going into it about a foot or so above ground with the puller tipped down slightly gave me the best chance at more curl force and it also puts the bar against the tree to push more from the top to get more leverage to rip the roots.

If they made a tree puller that rotated into a grapple that would be the best of both worlds, but would probaby be bad at both. I don't do a ton of moving or hauling with the trees; I just get them piled and then come back with the grapple to do the bulk removal.

I use the hood release/ornament on my B2650 as my position guide. If the lift cylinders can't pull it, driving forward or rocking tractor while pulling works - to a limit, it's just a "B".
