As a long time TBN member, but not very active until I have a need for specific information about something, I don't comment on posts but do a lot of research here.

My question is does anybody else find these D--n pop up ads EXTREMELY ANNOYING?

How can you get rid of them besides closing each one separately? Hopefully this can be done without having to pay (ransome!!).

I use Tapatalk on my phone and tablet and don’t have pop-ups per say. Just an ad or two as I scroll down- zero issues for me and nothing to close or distract me.

What pop ups? I use Windows 7 with Firefox and I think it has a pop up filter built in.

Use Firefox for your internet browser. You can download Firefox for free.

Then make it your "default" browser.

Then go to "Add-ons" in your new Firefox menu.

Search for and download "Add Blocker Plus". It is also free.

Then go into the settings of Add Blocker Plus, and UNCHECK the box that says "Allow Acceptable Adds".

You will have ZERO pop up adds on this, or most any other website.

You're welcome.

I use "Ad Blocker Plus" on all my search engines.

What ads? :) Go load ad block plus for your browser. 14 ads blocked on this page alone

I do most of my TBN on a Kindle and have never had a pop-up.

Some people like popups.

In my opinion there is a special place in he77 reserved for the man or woman that invented the concept of the pop up.

W/O the revenue from adds TBN would not exist as a free service, ignore or block your choice. I just ignore. Popups not related to TBN same situation. Some people like popups.

Really? Who?

I used to use Adblock Plus, but maybe 6 months ago it seemed to break several websites I regularly visit so I switched to Ghostery which seems to work better. I use Chrome for a browser (yeah, I know Google is evil and they track everything you do, but IMHO it's the best of the bunch).

I get that ads are what pay for websites, and wouldn't mind if they were fairly non-intrusive, but large, flashing/animated ads are a complete turn off and slow the site waaay down. Much like ads on tv...relatively low-key or clever ones are one thing but the (mostly car) ads that yell and snarl and have the volume cranked up to 12 make me just mute the audio entirely.
You'd think advertisers wouldn't want to annoy potential customers, but it doesn't seem to work that way.

I dunno if I've got the same thing as you, but in my case when I'm on this site on my phone, a full-screen add for Zejula cancer medication pops up, sometimes with a short video playing. It happens more often at night, and only happens when I'm viewing a thread. When I hit the back button, it takes me back to a previous page than the one I was on when the add popped up. If I don't hit the back button, scrolling down continues the page I'm on when the add popped up.

I use the Chrome browser with no ad-ons, and I don't get pop ups, just some regular ads on the page that aren't very obtrusive.

To clarify, your ads aren't requesting a ransom, correct? That could be a separate issue.

I don't believe that that is a Tractor By Net ad, as I recall the owner has said several times that he does not use pop-up ads.
I suspect that you have a malicious extension in your browser which is adding those pop-ups and other ads to your browsing experience.

Most likely, although I tried various methods to find the offending app which sideloaded addware, so far found nothing unusual.
