If you look at the pictures that I've posted now you'll see that she was practicin' /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

/ Pond/Water Garden Project #23
Yep all she has to do is get you closer to the edge of that pond.......the deep end..... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

/ Pond/Water Garden Project #24
Guess I cought you in the middle of posting /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Things are shaping up nicely.

You put your wife on your tractor.....big mistake my friend...big mistake /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif.

Thanks for sharing. I just love pictures.

Nice looking project Jim. I'll be interested to see the finished results and the progress as you go. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Looks great so far though!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hey the tractor seemed to look a lot nicer when your wife was on it, what's the deal on that? You got two different TC24's or does her glow just bring out the intense blue on the machine. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

/ Pond/Water Garden Project #27
She looks like a natural on that machine ......doesn't she? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

/ Pond/Water Garden Project #28
My wife drove my tractor once, I think she liked the power steering. She has not asked to do it again, although that could change at anytime. She wont let me get a photo of her on it

Just noticed the Hydrangea plant in the picture. Hope that you didn't bury that when setting the pond. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif If you move it, give it plenty of water and put coffee grounds into the soil and all around it. They just love coffee and it makes them bloom better. Good luck with the project, and don't forget that the Blue Herons love the fish in the pond.... You don't want to know how I learned that fact..... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Wow, somehow I missed the last few replies to this thread. I'm not sure which plant you are talking about /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif, but as far as I know, no plants were harmed in the making of this pond. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Until the other day, I wiped one out with the rototiller. Man I got in trouble for that one. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Anyway, here are some updated pics. Here is the kids' swingset now that wife repainted it with the colors the kids picked. Turned out kinda bright. Looks like something from Nickelodean.

Here is the arbor that I made her for her B-day. I need to get the nailer out again and reattach one of the slats that I bumped when I was putting it in place. But I'm not dragging the compressor out for 2 nails. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Another shot of the arbor, and an even better shot of my goof-up.

Here are some updated photos of the pond. We hauled 3 ton of gravel last week to go around it - that is just the little rocks. She already had the big ones. I still need to get some flexible lines for the lines going down to the pump.

She didn't like my stream I had built, so she changed it to more of a water fall. We then used mortor around the rocks to stop them from "leaking." Our mason (I won't mention any names but his initials are JWS and he works cheap, just an occasional Pepsi /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) got a little carried away with the mortor so we have a little bit of clean-up there to do once we get it finished.

A forward shot of the falls. We are real happy with the effect of the first falls. Really a nice trickle sound. Still have a couple of "leaks" to fix at the lower to falls to force the water up over the rocks. Maybe one night this week. I really want to get the water flowing there.

This is the filter. I need flexible tubing for this as well so that I can move it back away from the edge of the pond and hide it. They used an odd size outlet and I've had trouble finding hose to fit - at least at our crappy Lowes. I'll stop tonight on my way home to see what I can find.

Here is the electric pole I put in for juice to the pump and eventual lights. 2 outlets/4 plugs all ran back to the shed on a GFCI outlet with a 20 amp breaker. Thanks to the Inspector for his advice in getting me juiced. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

This is just a shot of my "natural grass" where we ran the wires for the electric about 2 or 3 weeks ago. You can barely tell where we put it. The subsoiler did a nice job in not tearing everything up.

Some other areas of the flower part of the water garden. I bet Monica is close to doing a quarter acre. She still has a lot of work to go though.

Here are some of the Emerald Greens and stuff that she has planted around the perimeter that will eventually grow and provide some privacy - along with our White Pines there in the back ground.
