Pond dredging

I've seen some farmers dredge their ponds with a tractor powered manure pump, and an agitator that stirs up a manure pit.

The backed both units into the pond. Agitated the water, and then pumped the slurry with the manure pump.

They set up a bunch of hay bails to act as a filter and collect the muck allowing the water to drain away between the hay bails.

Does the pond have an outlet to a creek or stream? That's where problems could arise from others. Seeing cloudy water coming their way. No solutions here at dad's ponds other than permits, etc. Jon

I have a pond that is getting shallower by the year. I would like to do this some day, but it is very low on the priority list.
