Oh, I love the sound of rain on a metal roof, but not in my 20x30' metal amplifier!

What about putting a metal roof on a ranch style house? Shouldn't be that loud with all the insulation, the wood sheathing and shingles, should it? G

In addition to the metal roof, we have enough insulation overhead to meet Georgia Power's Good Cents criteria plus one inch pine ceiling and the rain doesn't make enough noise to be heard unless it is really raining hard or we open the dormer windows. Hail was extremely loud and sleet is much more noticeable than the rain.
