Interesting how in Europe they use huge tractors with front plows or snow-blowers instead of trucks.
I would assume they don't salt/sand the roads at all.

It so much snow so they don't sand at the moment, for sanding main roads they use this:Stromaskin-SV8000_2e0f2b85438b35ff277cbe8b43acc146.jpg

Plow trucks are used on large high ways, but most is cleared with tractors, it's a multitool, lot of farmers do plowing in the winter, and it's a lot easier to get drivers for tractors, taking driver license for large trucks are very, very expensive so few bother to do that just to has it as a sidejob.

That's a pretty interesting concept.Farmers making a little extra money and using their equipment. Those Fendt's are quite amazing.

Thank you very much for all the pics and video!!!! And thanks for the pic of the Ursus. That's a first for me!!!!

Most European tractors have a very fast road speed. The Fendt tractors use a variation of CVT. Very smooth, seamless speed transition. Very effective horsepower. That video operator knows within a few inches where the edge of his blade is!!!!! He's done that work many, many hours!!!! Great video.

Fendt transmission is very fuel efficient in this type of work, high road speed with low load.

But they are very expensive tractors.

There are several of those Fendts around here... They are going 33 mph down the road when I'm behind one...

They look pretty big against my little sno-plow tractor!

A lot of very expensive equipment witch i sometimes wonder how they manage to earn enough to pay leasing and driver.

A lot of the farm entrepreneurs don't clock so much hours a year on the attachments.
