Plastic edge for BX23

There has been talk about a plastic edge for the FEL on a BX23. I plow a 1000 foot paved driveway with my BX23. Where does one buy a plastic edge? Is it available from a Kubota dealer or another supplier?

I'm looking to use a product from www.fallline.com that is 1.5" thick. I'm going to drill and thru bolt it to the leading edge of the bucket. You have to use the float or you'll rip it off, but it will protect the drive very nicely. I use it on my rear blade and Western plow also.

I bolted a piece of 2 x 12 pine on the bottom of my bucket. Didn't want to scar the concrete drive. I have a short drive and little snow, so it lasts a season. Can still use the bucket to dump also.

You spent way to much $$$, /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I used two 2 x4 and bolted them on the sides of the bucket, worked great for snow and mulch too.

With these soft edges what do you do do when you get ice?

I can understand the soft edges on municipal equpipment; keeps the operator in place when he hits a raised manhole.

On a private drive where all is known I'm confused as to there requirement! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Egon,

The woods skids prevent the bottom of the FEL from coming in contact with the paved driveway and scraping it. Now that I have a snowblower I do not use the FEL. BUT I do use the wood skids when I get a dump truck load of mulch and have to move it around the yard.
