Picture Help

I am trying to load pictures of my new B3030 that I took this morning. When I select "UPLOAD" I get a message that my file size (1.62) is too big. I guess the limit is 1000KB. I break things much better than I fix them but there has got to be a way to decrease the file size by lowering picture definition/pixels etc... ???

Anybody got detailed instructions that are appropriate for the lowest common denominator?

If you are running windows xp, you need to go to this microsoft site and download a program that will enable you to easily do that. You will find it on the right side of the screen and near the bottom of the page. You will have to scroll down to find it. It is called Imageresizer.exe.
Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP

Select "Run" when the dialog box pops up. Install the program. Then after it is installed, simply right-click on any picture or group of pictures and select "resize pictures". 600x800 works pretty well for on screen stuff. It will keep the original size of your picture and create a new file with the old file name but with the word medium (or large or small) added. For example, if your photo was picture.jpg, it would make a new file named picture (medium).jpg.

Find Irfanview software. Free, easy, and has every function needed.

Your pic was taken with the file size of the camera set to large.

If that be your preference, so be it. I'd start with rsetting the camera to medium.



Resizing a pic is easy enough with the Windows application but Irf is foolproof and will allow for a functional creativity of various needs. It is not a Photoshop tool.

I can post up a tutorial here if requested. I have a forum site that shows the easy step by step with Irf...
