Always a good idea. Category 2 hitches are much larger and have bigger connectors. You see them more in farm tractors 50hp and up.

Whatever you do, replace the paired nuts on the big u-bolts that adjust the arms with nylock nuts. The normal nuts shake loose. Otherwise a great product.
