Pallet uses, for storage etc...

This may seem like an easily answered question but I always am inspired by you TBN member's creativity. So what all do you store on pallets to be moved and/or what do you use pallets for or make with them for storage. I just got a set of forks for my tractor and am looking for all the pallet storage ideas possible! I have already stacked up all the loose bricks laying around and certainly have plans to stack a few pallets with fire wood but what else?

Some people use them for 3 pt implements, then stack them on racking.

I just use them for firewood.

My buddy put all his implements on pallets with wheels, yes I said witHis pole barn has a concrete floor, so he just rolls over the one he wants and hooks it up, no need to move the tractor

You'll find forks WAY more handy than a bucket and will likely end up with them on the front most of the time. I use mine for all kinds of things....the hinged top on this hog house for example.....lift it up to clean out between pigs, and move the whole house different places.

Feed storage shed holds 4 - 55gal drums of feed in the dry, and mostly bear resistant:

Feed shed in place, 1/2 a 10" PVC pipe for feed trough:

Miller welded permanently mounted on frame with casters to roll around in the shop, and to take out for various repair/projects/generator needs around the farm.

Move lumber.....set a whole bunch on saw horses at a time:

Move baskets of firewood into the shop and greenhouse:

Wood tool carrier holds all kinds of tools/chainsaws/etc

Pc of 6" PVC pipe mounted against back wall of it to hold shovels/etc.

Haul firewood out of the woods, pile to saw up: (beat cutting in little rounds in the woods, loading into bucket, THEN hauling out !)

I store quite a bit of gas/diesel, and use these custom made wood pallets to easily move 55gal drums:

Move saw logs around the mill yard, load the log deck, take slabs to burn pile, move finished lumber into sheds:

And finally, pick up the roll-around trash cart at the house, take it to the road for weekly pickup !

Just be careful not to try and carry a long long through the woods with them. The log might get caught on a tree and twist to quickly to stop it from bending one of the forks. Now I gotta bend it back.

NOTHING I have sits on the ground. Firewood, implements, bricks, old wood stoves - everything sits on a pallet, not on the ground, even if inside my pole barn.

For firewood I find IBC totes are far superior to pallets. But my tractor has the lift capacity to handle them.

Pallets and/or HF dollies are used for all my attachments.

And that is just some of them....ahahahaaaaa.

If you move both forks together, it makes a pretty good digging spade as well ! Long as the ground isn't too hard, you can plan shrubbery, or slip them under rows of sweet potatoes so the wife has them right up at waist high to harvest......make her quite happy not to have to do all that bending.

Fire starter! Put a couple of pallets under a brush pile, stuff a bunch of crumpled newspapers inside, one match does it. No starter fluids required. Pallets for roofing shingles work great. All thin softwood slats.

I save the good solid oak HD pallets for storing implements on pallet racks.

All of our hay goes on pallets, lean one (or ten) against a wall for a vertical garden space. either hook grow containers on or fill with dirt and plant. Get pallet racking and store all your tractor stuff on pallets. Put the walk behind tiller or mower on a pallet and stack them on the racks.

Yep, in wife's horse barn, storage area has stone dust floor. Square bales get stored on top of pallets set on top of plastic moisture barrier.

You really need to write a book with tons and tons of pictures showing what it took to create everything that you have at your place!!!

A bar or chain across the front to keep the drum in place might be a good addition.

Was thinking the same thing. Having a brain-fart on the tilt-leveling controls when raising/lowering 55 gallons of gasoline could make a bang.
