Over kill dump trailer

I have two batteries in both my dumps, I can dump all day long. A few seconds up and down should be no problem even with one battery. If it is, then upgrade to a bigger/better battery. Thats what dump trailers do, they go up and down:D
I would believe that with a power up/gravity down system. Our little 16 footer with 2 batteries was only good for 6 -7 dumps until we switched it to power up/gravity down.

I did heavy gauge wire and anderson connectors to my dump trailer also to directly run it off the truck.

Dont matter how many batteries you have in the trailer.....they will eventually fail.....and eventually leave you unable to dump a load.

No worries with the direct wire.....was long as the truck is running it will have the juice to dump

I guess I’m thinking I only load/unload 1-2 times per day and a slight tilt of the trailer is only a few seconds, so no biggie on battery drain, right?
Everyones experience is a little different. One of the reasons on the job, I always hire dump trucks or dumpsters. I dont want to spend the time fooling with that stuff. The only reason we even have a dump trailer is that I got it for dirt cheap off a guy that was hurting for cash and sometimes it is handy to have around the farm.

I can’t blame you. I’m getting tired of fixing equipment, too
Paying for fixing it when you can’t do it yourself sucks, too.

I’m young I can still wrench for a day and not feel bad for two. But it could get tiring doing all your own work eventually maybe. I don’t really trust the yahoos around here to even check oil in site glass. I also save a ton of money, trailer shops are pricey.

I added a Anderson connector as well so I’ll have 3 batteries running the dump. No load it lifted heck probably 12-14 times full dump on its battery when I was messing with the cylinder and scissor greasing it etc. But one full (overly heavy ) load of crushed asphalt put a hurting on the battery. Had to bust out the trusty jump pack. Had about 10 yards in it.

Power up/power down on both, with the PJ equipped with two pumps. Two 800 cca batteries do a lot of dumping. I do have a new high flow pump on order from Diamond C for the Lamar, it is power up/gravity down.

Some of the big 8'x20' dually dumps use two scissors hoists, super slow and battery hungry. Mine are both 7'x16'x3'.
