Ordered a 2022 Ram 2500

Let's get back on track here and discuss truck purchasing.

As I mentioned previously in the thread, I have two vehicles on order with no prospects of getting either anytime soon. The salesman I deal with is a nice guy. Since the factory allocates just so many new vehicles per dealership, he suggested I place "stock" orders for the same vehicles at other dealerships as well. A stock order means I am under no obligation to buy if and when the truck arrives.

I've been listening to all the dealerships in my city advertising pictures of new vehicles with phrases like "lowest prices guaranteed" and "huge inventory". I decided to take the salesman's advice and visited two other dealerships with the idea of placing orders there as well.

At both locations, I was told no new orders were being accepted. The "huge inventory" turned out to be used vehicles, some of which were 7 years old and of different brands! I got the sales pitch to buy used and "save" from both salesmen! To me, this is just bait and switch advertising.

It appears dealerships are turning into used car lots these days.

Complete Turf Care - Have you heard anything new on the truck build yet? Just curious.

I head shop ;foreman say to make a one ton
truck out of a 3/4 one is add two leaf springs
and you have the one ton.
The cummins 5.9 has a big advantage over
some other diesel engines as very easy to
get a lot of hp without the big expense!
I wonder how many vehicles that you could
remove all the pollution crap on them and still
be ahead of the emission tests???? It was in
Oregon or Washington that a lawyer removed
all the pollution crap from his Chrysler because
the neighbors were complaing about the stinky
way the car was stinking up the neighborhood
and it wasw 15 years ahead of the requirements.

I ordered a new RAM 1500 on November 30, 2021. The next day I received an email from RAM thanking me and giving me my VIN number. On January 11th I received my build sheet, my truck was built on the first shift of January 13th, and my Window Sticker was sent to me on the 14th. The truck is now in transport to my dealer.

Maybe things are getting better.

My salesman said it should be in this week. I'm headed to a trade show and should be back Friday morning (if the weather allows air travel). I hope to pick it up Friday.

I got my 2022 in just under 4 months, but there are MANY on the HDRAM forum that ordered before me and are still waiting 7 months later. For some reason I was lucky! I was twice lucky because I bought a 2021 in mid summer 2021 for $72,900 after all was said and done, the dealer gave me $72,000 for it with almost 7K miles on it as a trade to this one 4 months later. I bought the 2021 Laramie Granite Crystal and also ordered the 2022 Patriot Blue Limited Longhorn on the same day at Ron Lewis in Cranberry Twp Pa. They sold me the 2022 for $500 under invoice ($75,800), so I got a VERY fair deal. I have every option but the dual alternators, trailer TPMS and trailer surround view camera system. Every other option.... I have. I really enjoy may RAM trucks. I am equally a Ford guy, but at this time I prefer the RAM interior over the Ford. I do think that the Ford Superduty looks more tough.

The day I fork over 75 for a pickup truck (more than the farm cost) is the day I... you fill in the blank. Add in the finance and I bet you are pushing 85. That is insane.

You have to remember that not everyone gets the same paycheck. There are people who could buy and sell my life. There are people I can buy and sell. That is the cool thing about America, we all stand a chance of grabbing a bigger chunk of the pie. And please do not misconstrue that as thinking that it is a measure of who is a better person or not, often times I suspect that it is luck or right place and time type of thing. For me it was a combination of luck and right place and time. But I know that I make more money than I would if a couple accidental but very lucky things did not fall into my lap. As long as your happy with your situation and living your best life, it's all good. Life is fun. I only get my pass through this game, I'm having a good time.

So am I and candidly, I could buy one (or 2) as well but I won't because they aren't worth that kind of jack. Neither are the Fords or the Chevy's either. Now I might buy one off lease (which is how I buy my vehicles any way) and let the original lessee take the depreciation hit.

Just bought my wife a 2 year old off lease Suburban LTZ 4x4 loaded and paid about half sticker and it still had factory warranty left on it. A loaded Burb is right up there as well with the pickup trucks, in the mid to high 70's Put an additional 4 year warranty on it because of all the electronic stuff. Even has a TV for the back seat, air ride suspension and knobs I cannot figure out what the are for yet.

Paid cash too. As a rule, I don't finance anything unless it's for the business and I can write it off. Just bought a new 45 grand round bailer as well and got 0 percent finance on it.

Told the wife I was considering a new Corvette but living on a dirt road, probably not a good idea. I'll probably wait until Fords get the bugs out of the new full size Bronco and get one of them, off lease of course.

Always been a full size Bronco fan. Money isn't an issue here and never has been. I probably have more than I can ever spend anyway and if I need some, I can always ask my wife for a loan.
