How much play you need depends on the implement. Plowing a rocky soil, lots of play so things can deflect around big rocks. A landscape rake doesn’t need much play, unless you’re raking rocks.

You are correct! I do have those "new style" stabilizers. When hooked up still sways. I suppose I should adjust them so tight? thank you!

If it still sways with the pin installed, you may have the pin in the slotted position. Try putting the pin in one of the other holes.
