I found what seems to be a satisfactory jeweler's anvil on ebay at a fair price. My question is why would the seller limit sales to "ONE PER CUSTOMER, NO EXCEPTIONS"?

Old marketing trick. Limited supply get folk to buy now before the supply runs out.

Sign in store "limit 4 per customer" get some customers that need 1 or 2 to buy 4.
