Buying Advice Old vs new 5065e...

I'm looking at JD 5065e's with a 553 loader. I'll likely only be able to afford an older model, and am curious what I'll be missing out on. What features do the newer 5065e's have that the older models don't?

Or, to put it another way:
What do the 2010 models have that the 2009s don't?
What do the 2011 models have that the 2010s don't?
What do the 2012 models have that the 2011s don't?
What do the 2013 models have that the 2012s don't?
etc.

The older designs seemed to have problems with the fuel tanks and brakes from what nice heard. There's been much talk about both issues on here about it. I do think the improvements made to the new E series are welcomed, except for the high good due to the tier 4 mess. The layout is better though as far as dash and controls go.

I was looking heavily at these tractors for years until deciding against one....(brake issues I read about, dealer pricing being main one....)

2015 with the elephant ear fenders and tall hood are loaded with emissions garbage...avoid in my opinion
2014 and earlier are tier II with mechanical injection pump and flat top fenders.

I'd have to look in my sales lit, but seems to me the main difference from when the 50X5E tractors came out until 2014 models is the early ones only had the 9x3 trans, while later ones has the 12x12 power shuttle/540E option.

If you want one of these tractors I would look for a 5303(same exact thing as 5065e) because I don't remember a single problem back when they were the 03 series but since they switched to the E series it seems like they have all sorts of problems.

Just guessing here, but do you think that they've had more problems with the "E" series because they might be selling more of them?

Could be right but the 03's sold pretty strongly as well, although the E's have been out longer by a year or so I think. Back when the 03's came out you could get a whole lotta tractor for about $12000. Then in 08 they synchronized the transmission to make them even more appealing.
