I have a yanmar diesel tractor which gets very little use. I keep the diesel up to the top of the tank for any moisture problems but my concern is the motor oil changing rate. I put about 10 hours of use per year, should I change the crank case ever year or what??????? Maybe I should sell it ????

thank you

You're going to get both opinions here. Personally, I wouldn't change it.

To your question of selling. I enjoy having a tractor, even if I'm not using it as much as some. It's not a financial burdon on me to have it. However, for the health of the tractor, it would be happier with some more operating time. I used mine 60 hours last year, and 25% of that was "just for the **** of it". I'll use it to do things like, visiting the neighbors, checking the mail, taking the garbage out etc. Maybe you can find some excuses to run it a little more often?

my opinion is change every year. If you use it more hrs I would change more often. Mine is 100 hrs or 1 year. Mine doesn't get the 100 hrs so, it gets changed every season

I agree w/ Kenmac.....once a year, or 100 hours.... making up excuses to run it more sounds good too! :)
