O-ring Boss Elbow Fitting Question

Fellows, I am trying to specify fittings and lines in an area that some might consider tight. An elbow such as the one pictured below would be ideal however it must point within a very few degrees of the plan.

Is there some method of fixing these in a particular orientation or are they limited to where they bottom out?

That hex nut you see there, it's a jam nut. So you screw the fitting as far as possible, rotate to your desired angle, then tighten the jam nut to lock it in and provide the seal (note the o-ring).

I found a post that describes the jam nut. It has a clearer picture. Thank for helping to confirm.

When you screw the fitting in Try to keep the O-ring in area without threads. This allows the O-ring to seal on a smooth surface and less chance of O-ring being deformed in the threads

What you’re doing is exactly what that fitting was made to do.
