No Welding Table?.... Improvise.

Since I don't have a welding table I just improvised by using my post (leg) vice I use for blacksmithing...

Project was a tool caddy for rear of my SCUT

Yes it is a rehash of older caddy that was not really very good...........

I've always thought you have a welder to weld.
I chuckle when I see posts as to what table to buy.
What better way to practice but by making your very own table!

Yes the table is another of those "will get to it someday" projects, if I was welding more and had more demand for a "table" in shop it would have been done by now....

My welding table is an old Craftsman table saw that went bad. I stripped the parts out and put it on casters. You work with what you have.

Before this table, I worked off of sawhorses, on my knees in the driveway, plywood on 5 gallon buckets or whatever.

Built mostly from stuff found around the shop at work. Sits on casters (2 fixed and 2 swivel) with floor locks on the end that has the swivel casters. Top is 3' x 4' x 3/8" with some HD angle framing. Has room on the shelf for the Millermatic 175 and Hypertherm 30Air. Pic was taken before the Everlast 200STi arrived. The old Wilton vise was a Craigslist find a few years ago.

If I could afford all the super dooper ready made gizmos that go with a welder, I'd be able to buy what I need and hire out the occasional welding job. I wouldn't even need a welder.
