Thanks Piloon. It weighs 250 pounds so definitely heavy.

Threw a cost of paint on before lunch...

I do my welding on the floor for the most part, though that's getting hard on my knees. My last project was a 7.5'x12.5' gate, so a table would've been out of the question anyways.

Occasionally I do a small job on top of an old folding work stand, where the decrepit particle board top gets a bit smoky... not advised, do as I say, not as I do

I dont like a huge table for most fab work. Its too much to walk around and reach across. Some of the best I have ever seen have been rather simple. The one above is art.

Mine are not anything that is gonna make it in a boutique store. All scrap that got patched in when I moved in. I was going to make better but it worked well enuff that it's still there. I have 2 one with a vise. Pic in a bit.

I don't have room for a dedicated welding table.

I recently replaced my old MAC tool boxes with 3, 46 inch Husky boxes. I have two of those on one wall bolted together and bolted to the wall. I just lay on a piece of aluminum tread plate on top to protect the wood tops.

Do you weld on that top? I have a 3x8 bench with a plywood top and was thinking of putting a piece of 3/16 plate on top. But, I'm wondering if it would be a fire hazard?

LOL, my 'welding table' smokes a lot.
I mostly weld outdoors and use an old plywood topped work table that has folding legs.
The plywood top is well scarred and has many cuts from being used as a cut off grinder disk brake.*

*( most often I stop the blade by gauging the blade onto the wood.)
