I ended up having to take the controls right off the tractor. here are some pictures. The right side is jammed and wont move without excessive force. There is a picture of the back end as well. Would I have to take this apart to get to the springs?View attachment 615949View attachment 615949View attachment 615952

The springs are under the caps on the end. There shouldn't be any fluid under the caps either. You take the caps off and can inspect the springs.

I haven’t seen the person who did the damage in any of the photos........

Thanks, I will look at it when I get back from vacation. Thanks for all your help.

Also, the right one has some tool marks on the polished surface....clean those up before you attempt to pull the valve through the seal.

My last backhoe developed a slight leak and would fill the caps with fluid. When that happened the rod couldn’t extend into the cap. I had the drill a hole in the cap to let them drain. But I doubt that’s the problem here.

So turns out the spool is bent. Anyone try to bend this back before? Not sure if I need to order a new one.

I'm sure it could be done. The handy tools would be an arbor press, v-blocks, and dial indicator.

That surprises me. Take the spool to a good hydraulic supply store and ask if they can match it up for you. The one I use locally has actually machined spools for different applications. They have hundreds of different spools in stock as well. Should be reasonable in price.

So I will give you guys the rundown. I brought the spool to a hydraulic shop and they didn稚 have any on hand and didn稚 want to try to bend the original back. Saying 的 will not even touch that? Said he could order one on Monday. So, with nothing to lose we decided to try and bend it back. A few attempts with the press and it slides in and out like it use to. Put it all back together, nothing leaks and it works great. My neighbor who did it by accident helped which was good on him. Thanks for everyone痴 help and I leant a lot from this experience. Glad I registered to the site.
