New user and new machine

Hi guys,
First post, I have done a lot of reading but I have not come across what might be a learning curve issue or a setup issue. I’m hoping for setup issue lol.
I have just received a brand new CX2510 HST with a 3rd function installed and a KB2465 Back Hoe and a KL2510C loader, beautiful machine.

Back Hoe Problem: I cannot pull boom and arm at the same time. It’s one or the other. I can just imagine how much wear I will be putting on the controls operating like this. I do not think this is proper?

Prior to purchasing the machine I had the opportunity to run a used Hoe at the yard. I experienced the same thing.

Do I have to relearn how to run a Hoe? I can’t imagine running a different machine after this.

Welcome to TBN. Most likely there is not a problem with your backhoe. Compact tractors typically have lower flow and open center systems. That will limit the availability of multiple functions at the same time. With a little time you will get use to it and you may be able to feather the valves and get some dual action.

Yes, what K5lwq said.... it takes practice. You cannot fully pull (or even halfway) the controls. Feathering the valves will allow combination movements. I had previously used BH's, most of them used and abused and "loose". When I got my new one, it was like learning all over! I was literally throwing dirt out of the bucket sideways and banging the stops. It took probably 20 hours of operation until I really got used to it. Now movements are very fluid and smooth.

You'll get the hang of it. Just start off slow and practice, practice, practice!

I'd run a Bobcat excavator once that I swear was like this. I just couldn't get that thing to operate smoothly. Mind you, this is a dedicated digger with higher flows. Takeuchis took little effort to operate smoothly.

More weight, greater demand on lower flowing systems means having to, essentially, take it one step at a time. You can sense this very thing with the loader: but if you go really slow you can make it operate multidimensionally, concurrently- likely the same with a backhoe (I've never operated one on a tractor).

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated. I have been watching You Tube Videos and have witnessed combined boom and stick movements. It has to be me lol.
I also read in the manual that the Boom has a float mode. It also reads “the two levers provide four simultaneous operations”.

I'm at 4 hours now and I must say I'm impressed. No problem performing 2 and 3 functions at the same time. Super happy with the swing strength. I run a Gradall 660E, although I'm pushing smaller piles sideways with the Kioti, it rocks
