I have to run my tree shear from my rear hydraulics (20' lines). It's very slow to open and close, do the lines have to be purged of air?
Under no imposed load.If my math is correct 5” cylinder would extend approximately 1.6 inches per second with 8 GPM inlet flow
Consider going with a pto hydraulic pump if you need more speed. I bought a Ford 7710 that needed more hydraulics and the previous owner added a pto pump. Thanks for the replies and suggestions. It is a 5" cylinder and I'm feeding it with 1/2" lines. I did some checking and my pump is only rated for 8.3 gpm. I think you're all correct, it's working as good as it's going to with this setup.
