About 30 hp minimum plus a heavy tractor, mine is a 5' cut, have seen 6' as well. I used to chop with my Farmall H some, did OK. My ford 8N can't handle it because of gearing, the NAA does a little better as long as its not too thick. My JD 790 pulls it pretty good on flat ground but its not heavy enough to control it on the hills. My Massey 135 handles it pretty well all around. I would think your WD could handle it ok, the Massey wouldn't even sweat, even with a 6' cut. My forage wagon is small, holds maybe 4 to 6 yds. of material, about the same as my ton truck 9' body rounded, not as much as my 12' body.
