Just about to turn 4,000 trouble-free miles on my Can-am Defender.

Looking from the cab of the Defender over 100+ miles of Nevada desert from the top of a mesa about 3,000 feet above the desert below. Sheer drop of about 500 feet right in front of the Defender:

Nice. We have about 5200 miles on our 22 limited 4 door and had about 6500 miles on the 2019 2 door cab model.

Does anyone know about how much a 2008 Polaris RZR 800n is worth? There is one here in average condition except it cannot shift into low gear. Everything else is fine.

I like hearing the Defenders are getting good longevity, we bought a 24 Limited and are loving it.

Around here, 5k if everything is working as it should, missing Low would drop it at least $1500, but the location can cause prices to vary. Also mileage matters and can help with the sale.

Been reading the Defender forum posts for several years now. And it is clear that if you leave the driveline relatively stock, and don't use it as a submarine or airplane, they are really dependable. Seems a lot of folks, soon as they buy one, they are asking how to mount 35" (or taller) tires on it, which the machine was never engineered for. Then a short time later they are on there saying what a piece of junk it is because something in the suspension broke. Then there's those who post video of themselves jumping the machine, flying through the air. Or driving through muddy water so deep most of the dash is submerged.

Guess if you can afford to treat a $30,000 machine that way, why, have at it!

800 miles now. Had to cut yesterdays ride short. The others didn't like getting pounded with rain so they wanted to return home.

Do have one complaint. The way the roof is shaped and the water channel in it.

When it pouring rain, it runs down the channel and as you can see here, pours right on to your left leg, LOL Which in turn runs down your leg and soaks the seat.

Luckily I had a rain suit. But still a LOT nicer than sitting on a 4 wheeler.

And I am amazed at how stable it is. I got caught in a big rut going down the hill to the bridge in the pic above, and I had it almost rolled on to driver side. Rear view mirror was almost touching the ground and it was just starting to exceed the balance point (I did have a passenger) But I was able to reverse out with a friend hanging off passenger side of machine.

Truer words may never have been spoken....

How often you see posts on SxS forums complaining that company XXX makes crap axles/suspension/etc then you see a photo, and the thing is lifted 8" running 40" mudders. Shocking it broke.....

Why I bought a Defender with a full cab on it. When it's nice out there I can roll down the windows and open the windshield. When its nasty out there I close the windows. And turn on the heat if it is needed.
