I ordered a 2210 a couple week ago and went last weeked to look at it. The time on the hour meter read 1.4 hours. Whats up with this? I told the salesman that I wanted a brand new one when I placed the order. New to me would be 1 to 2 tenths of an hour. I didn't ask him about it because it still looks new. Sometimes being a perfectionist gets in the way.
They will be delivering it this Saturday.

Oh, and thanks to everyone on the forums that help me choose the 2210 over the x-series.

Most stock tractors will have a few hours on them. They are tested at the factory. They are going to be moved around the dealers lot. Customers will test drive them on the dealers lot. The service department has to run them to do the setup & test attachments. The 3 compact tractors that I have purchased, each had about 2 hours on them.

Thanks Chevy, I don't feel so bad now. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I would question anything over 7-10 hours, but anthing less is pretty normal, as said above. Just wait until you goof around the first day on your new tractor. It will seem like you did nothing and you will be up to 5 hours... just like that /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Any less hours would be MORE of a concern. You want it fully checked out before you take delivery! I would think a perfectionist would insist on them checking it over very carefully, which will add some hours. Also, don't forget, many of their customers will put 100 times the hours on their machines as you will yours. What me seem like a deluge to you isn't even a drop to them....

That amount of time on your unit is perfect. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
When I purchased my 2210, off the lot, they had 3 in stock.
They had 1.4 hrs, 0.7 hrs and 0.4 hrs.
Of course I chose the 0.4 and what a pain.
Parts were missing and it made the experiance drag on and on...
Had I just purchased either of the two with the higher hours, I would have had a completely assembled unit and would not have had to go back to the dealer. I went back about 7 times as parts arrived. Don't get me wrong, the dealer took care of me well but it was still a pain. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Let us know how you like your 2210 when you get some time on it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My 4710 was delivered wth 4.1 hours. Between having initially been at a different dealer and no doubt driven around a bit, plus set up and testing by my dealer - it adds up. Too much higher and I would probably have raised an eyebrow but under five or six hours seemed OK.

Don,

My 2210 was delivered last June, and now has something like 53 hrs. on it! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Trust us, those hours will just fly on! What is more important than the delivered hours, is the dealers attention to detail. On mine, every nut and bolt was tightened and torqued and then painted with a white slash to confirm it had been done. I have had zero issues with machine or dealer quality! Now I know the dealer could have marked each one without checking them, but in this case I'm reasonably confident it was all done. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Anyway, the one thing I would pass on and recommend that you negotiate in at the time of purchase is the 50 hr. servicing. It's a whole lot pricier than you might expect, and I can think of several reasons the dealer is the right place to have this first servicing done.

I just had them reserve the 4010 that I drove at the dealer about a week ago. I'm sure that it'll have some hours on it. Doesn't bother me at all. Would be even better if it had 50 hours and already had the 50 hour service done. It would have to have been treated horribly to have any damage done to it.

The 2210 and 4010 appeared almost identical to me. The 2210 had a positioning control for the MMM. The 4010 has the dual brakes. Of course, the 2210 has 4.5 more hp. If I wanted more hp, the 2210 would be preferable to paying $2k more to get the 4110. The 2210 was only $300 more than the 4010.

RalphVa,
The 4010 is a very nice machine. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I needed the extra horsepower of the 2210 because of my very steep and long hills. The MMM height adustment is nice. I would really love to have the Dual Brakes but power is something I need more. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Yeah... to skip the 50 hr service would save a bit but if you can do it yourself it should be no problem. It appears it is the cost of transportation that really burns everyone's wallet at 50 hrs.

My tractor arrived on Saturday, delivery was prompt. The guy that delivered it went over the whole tractor, operation, and maitenance very well done. There were only a coulpe of minor things wrong with it so far. I dug an old rotton stump out of the ground like is was nothing and dumped leaves back over the fence where they came from. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif I still can't figure out how to skim the ground without taking a big bite. This is my first real tractor. Lots of fun!
