The deflector is only good if the grass is dry and low, that's the only time I leave it down. I drilled a small hle in the corner and tie it up with a strap on the chassis handle the rest of the time-no complaints yet.

I've had the same model riding mower for going on 2 full seasons now. Been pretty happy with ours to date. Don't really recall having any problems cutting "wet" grass, but if it's truly wet, I don't cut it. I've been through some tall grass in my road ditches with it, and as long as it's dry grass, I can hit it pretty fast and cuts right through it with no problems. I still have the original blades on mine, which I believe it came shipped with the "high lift" blades, and not the mulching blades. I have a pull behind seeder/spreader (100 lb cap), and a utility trailer (1600 lb cap), that I've pulled behind it. Not found any power issues with mine. I usually run out of traction (hills) before I run out of power.
