Hello everyone,
I just purchased a 1998 New Holland 1630 HST 4wd tractor with 7308 loader w/720 hours. When I try to lift the loader it makes a loud whining/squealing noise and the loader goes up but it is very slow & jumpy. I checked the fluid & it is at the full line when cold & the fluid doesnt look dirty or milky. I have taken the bypass valve out of the joystick controls & the manifold diverter block, cleaned them and reinstalled with no difference. Not sure how to check if one of the bypass valves are bad? I was also wondering if there is a screen or screens somewhere I can check to see if clogged? I dont have a manual yet as original owner hasn't found them yet. I have also tried switching the quick connect hoses thinking maybe the previous owner hooked them up incorrectly but still no difference. The previous owner told me he blew a hydraulic line, drove it into his shop while leaking fluid the entire way maybe 500ft. He replaced the line and then this problem started happening. He replaced the filters & fluid last July and it has been sitting since. I was going to replace the filters and fluid but since he just did it before parking it, I was wondering if there was some other things I could try before spending over $200 on filters and hydraulic fluid. The loader will go all the way up and the bucket will also curl but as stated just very slowly and jumpy. The 3 point hitch does the same thing when raised. I am mechanically inclined but haven't worked on many hydraulic systems. I'm assuming I need to get a hydraulic gauge and test for pressure. I have been reading the forums here and others pointed me to tractorbynet because it is such a great forum. Any and all help is appreciated! Sorry for the lengthy post.
