Catching back up with the thread:

Always love a new garage project. Good luck on yours. Seems to be a decent size.

I'm a concrete contractor. It's always interesting to me when I see somebody pour a job themselves in order to save money. Many times, it goes poorly for them. Kinda like when I decide to frame something :D

To be fair I poured the concrete for my generator shed, all around my pool, and various other jobs in my life and I had 3 friends 2 of which are contractors by trade on the job. I had a guy reach out on Facebook asking to do a pad for him which I declined, citing I’m not a professional. It’s one thing when it’s mine, whole other story when it’s someone else’s.

So far I’ve bought a 24” bucket for my backhoe, a bobcat, a trencher, and this miter saw for the garage and I’m still way shrewd of the game of paying someone else to do it.

I bought a new cab tractor and backhoe when I did my geothermal, and still came out ahead.

I agree, let the supject experts do the job, and its good for the economy when the $$ are available

If i let the experts do everything, i wouldn't be able to afford the garage. Because I'm doing most of it myself, it's significantly less expensive.

The floor joists arrived today! Very excited. The crane truck was great as well, really made life easier. The joists are really sturdy and there's lots of holes predrilled and cut so it'll be that much easier to run stuff through them without having to drill everything. I can't wait.

I was a bit worried. They called and said my credit card was declined and they were ready to go. Stupid credit card fraud protection triggered and it took an hour to get it fixed. I almost missed my delivery window.

How much do they weigh?

I did the math on it and they should weigh about 100lb each. Not unmanageable. But they're about a thousand degree's in the sun, so we'll need gloves.

Does that same truck deliver drywall? That’s all I’ve seen those trucks used for.

Delivered 3000 lbs of shingles to my roof over 30 feet off the driveway. Impressive machine.
