It would be nice to have a hydraulics forum so all the hydraulic questions and answers were all kept in the same place. The same questions seem to be posted in all the different forums and it is difficult to keep track of them.... The Original Junk....

I disagree.

Since hydraulic configurations can be different depending on your tractor brand, hydraulic questions that are brand specific should be in that brand's forums.

Generic hydraulic questions should be placed in the Customization or Build-it-Yourself forums.

Posts dealing with hydraulic parts should be in the Parts/Repairs forum.

I could go on but I stated my point.

I gotta disagree Junk. If and when I do have a problem I really don't want to look through a common set of FAQ's for all makes and models. Do you?

Junk if that'a really the way you feel the next time you have a hydraulic problem email me your questions.

My response will consist of the following "should be" "might have" "for the majority" "in most cases" and other useless dribble. That should make you happy. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Junkperson:

Closed-center John Deere hydraulics are REALLY different from open-center systems. (Anybody know if/when JD stayed in/ got out of the closed center business?) As someone once said a little knowledge is a dangerous thing - and I have about as little as anyone.

Yes we do need a new forum. A Welding Forum. I have seen (and put) general question about welding equipment, and welding techniques in the Projects forum, Related Topics forum and today in the Build It Your Self forum. What about it Muhammad? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

(Junkman do I get credit for hijacking your thread /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

There are several exceptional welding forums out there on the internet that contain a wealth of valuable information. Any question that has been asked here has been answered many times over in one or all of those forums. The welding forums are also frequented by people who are so called "experts". A good number of TBN'ers are seen occassionally on these forums. Why waste valuable space and bandwidth here on TBN when there are better resources out there?

We have a fabrication forum on CBN... so I doubt we're going to duplicate the forums over there, on TBN.
