LS XR4140HC
Hello everyone, new fella here. Been lurking on this site for about a month now. Lots of great info. My XR4140HC, when in 4x4, the the dummy light does not illuminate. Is this normal, and if so, why put a dummy light in the dash that doesn't notify the dummy?

Welcome!
I do not believe my XR4145C 4x4 light comes on either. In fact, I am not sure my dash has a light.
Here is my video of my tractor: NEW! LS XR4145 Tractor - Part 1 - YouTube
Pause at 4:49, my entire dash is lit up. I am not seeing a light that would indicate 4x4.

Thanks for the welcomes. I guess I thought the 2 lights in the lower left corner were 4x4 and differential lock indicators. I need to spend more time reading the manual, and less on the tractor.:duh:

Actually, I dont think I have ever seen most of the lights come on! I took a screen shot of that point in the video, and circled the ones I am sure I have never seen unless I was starting it up.
The diff lock, the ones in the lower left, FNR transmission lights, warnings, the rabbit, even the regen lights (because I have yet to regen the thing), I have never seen. Granted, I only have about 30hrs on mine. But I use 4x4 and diff lock all the time. Especially the transmission lights, I mean, common!
Now, I am not complaining. Those lights are great if something is wrong, but to have lights on just to indicate that I am moving forward...? I think I would rather leave them off. Which is maybe why they are there?? IF something is wrong with that system?? idk.

I'm pretty sure diif lock light only comes on when i cycle the key also. I eventually realize I've left it in 4x4, usually when I'm turning, but it'd be nice to know sooner sometimes, especially on a long stretch without harder turns.

For some reason, LS decided not to use those indicator lights on the XRs. Most of the lights I see when cycling the key are absent when operating the machine.

Thats kinda what I figured. Instead of re-tooling for different models, simply not use those lights and create more confusion for users. Does make it look cool when your turn the key though!
