Good point rScotty. Mine are adjusted out to the next to widest setting. Mine are loaded with RimGuard - estimated weight per tire ~ 1000# or more. The dealer didn't mind making this adjustment and his tilt-bed truck was more than wide enough to transport at this wider setting.
Yep, I still remember the first time I had to deal with a flat tire on the big JD. And that was just a FRONT tire...It's sure not like changing the spare on our PU.
Here our soil is a dry sandy & granite-base gravel typical of the Rocky Mountains. There isn't much clay or mud for lugs to grab. So instead of filling the tires we tend to run them wide. In some of the valleys there is more clay soil and they fill their tires.
