I just want to say thanks to all the TBNR's that helped me make my decision. This is a summary of my thought process, which led to my new 2630.
I started out looking at the used tractor market, and quickly found out that used iron holds it's value extremely well. Throw in the 0% financing incentives that the dealers were offering on new equiptment, and it suddenly became a no brainer to purchase new.
My primary use for the tractor is going to be finishing up the landscaping on my 3acre Property. The work is going to consit of installing several uni-lock type wall's and patio's. This work involves moving material like item4, stone dust, and top soil. I also plan on installig a 300' 12" drainage system that will allow my pond to drain in over flow situations. Most of the material that I purchase is delivered by 20yd dump trucks so the piles are pretty large. I also intend to install a sprinkler sytem on approx. 1.5 acres of the property. Post lights along the driveway, and several electical services throughout the property. I am sure there are other things but you can get a feel for the type of work that I am going to do.
The ironic thing is that my entire 3acres is currently lawn, and I mow it with a John Deere Gx 325 with 54"MMM. I also use my deere to clear my 300' driveway in the winter and the snowblower does a terrific job. The 325 has been an excellent machine.
How did I end up with the 2630? Well now that you guys see that I have some deere heritage in my blood, naturely I started out looking at JohnDeere. I pretty much was sold on the 4115 but got an original quote that was astronomical. So being the open minde consumer that I am. I found myself talking to the kubota dealer.
Mr.Kubota treated me just as good as mr.Johndeere so I instantly felt comfortable. I explained to the kubota dealer my intended uses, and he pointed me towards th bx23. I took a real good look at this impresive mini powerhouse, but decided that it was to close to the 325 that I currently own, and overall to small. The next model Mr.Kubota pointed me toward was the 7610. I took the brochure home, went over every single detail, and thought that I had found the perfect machine for my needs.
Considering how good Mr.Johndeere had treated me in the past I felt obligated to stop by and give him one last try to earn my business. I explained to him that the initial quote that he had given me on the 4115 had forced me to look at other manufacturers. When I told him that I was real close to pulling the triger on a 7610 he just about had a stroke. He instantly pointed out that the backhoe on the 7610, was a 3point type, that in his opinion was inferior to the 4point unit on the 4115. He also explained that the 4115 had position control on the 3pt. hitch, and that the 7610 had a quarter inching valve, that in his opinion again was inferior. After that he started crunching his numbers, and came up with a price that was about $500 more than the kubota7610. I felt that Mr.Johndeere did everything he could to earn my business, so told him to order the machine. I got a call from him about a day later and he told me that he could not get a 4115 from deere, and all the dealers that had them in stock would not part with them.
I then went back to Mr.Kubota knowing the short commings of the 7610, and started looking at the 2630. I looked at the specs. of the 2630, and the 3030 and could not believe how close they were. Heck the 2630 even had better hydrualic flow. I got the new BH75 4 point backhoe, the new 403 loader, for approx $500 more than the 4115. For me I finally found the perfect machine. I looked at the 3030, but could not justify the extra$ for my needs. Well I guess this turned out to be more than a summary, but thats how it went down. What do you goys think? Did I make the right tractor choice? Your replys will be much appreciated.

Its funny, I could have made the exact same post, the process to go from a bx23 to a 7610 to a 2630 is just what I did as well. No regrets, and everything is working great so far. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

As an owner of a B3030 who also went through a pretty lengthy evaluation process, I think you made a great choice!

You got a great machine. I had a b7500 that I traded up to the 2630 for. I also got the bh75 which has been a work horse so far. It the perfect size for the 4 acres we have and I was able to keep the same implements I had for the 7500. Although the 4' boxblade looks a little small on the back /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif But it still does the job. I wish I could of got the 3030 but like you I just couldnt justify that much more tractor and after finish mowing what we have I am happy.

Also Where are the pics /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nice machine, well you chose. I like devildog made the jump from a B7500 to a B 3030. I really wish i coul'd have kept the small machine but i needed it for trade in as i went hole hog for factory cab & snowblower as well as fel! The tough choice for me was the L or the B and i went back & forth for weeks! The fact. cab L model was just a little to large and i didin't want to have to invest in a new (heavier) trailer. The 3030 is an awsome machine as i'm sure the 26 is, treat her like a lady & she will take good care of you! More later, Scott.
