I have owned all tire combinations for the 2210 (turf, ag and industrial), and I personally think the industrial is the overall best option available, easy on grass and doesn't clog up in mud like turf. The ag is awesome, but that's a bit too agressive IMO for lawn mowing.

I have turfs on my 2210 and think they work pretty well -- up and until you encounter mud . . . then you might as well as park the tractor and wait for things to dry out. They do have an advantage (I think) in snow, but then again, I don't have any experience with R1's or R4's. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Hey Buckie, who says ya can't teach an old dog new tricks, I'll be going to the tire stores asap to look up some old wheel weights, what an idea /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif ! Now if I only had a ballast box /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif but the way I do things I'm sure I'll come up with a way to spend just as much money, & twice as much time to build a ballast box as looking into buying one. I get a sense of pride doing this nonsense of building things instead of buying them, plus that way I can complain that I never have time to relax. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Anyhow thanks for the idea of the lead weights, I've wondered what in the heck people put in ballast boxes that you can take out easily, sand would get full of water and rust the metal, concrete is a little permanent, firewood isn't heavy enough, etc. but lead weights would let water run through, and be easy to take out......great idea, you get the high fives from me! thank you! Have a great day!

</font><font color="blue" class="small">( Hi Everyone,

I just finalized a deal on a JD 2305 this morning at my local dealership. I have had it out at my house for a few days testing and all I can say is WOW. What an amazing little tractor.

My father has had a JD 445 for over 10 years and I also had a JD 445 until this morning. I traded in my ATV with snow plow and my JD 445 to combine everything into the JD 2305 with MMM and FEL. I have never wnated it to snow so much before.

Anyway, I just wanted to thank everyone for all the useful input on this forum. I was comparing the Massey Ferguson GC2300 and the JD 2305. JD has them beat hands down on design, confort and especially the layout of the HST pedals and brake. Massey has some work to do. Go Green.

Thanks...

EasyE, I have felt your pain before, i.e., wanting to work/play with that new tractor. Congrads on the machine.

One thing you might consider before you perhaps spend dollars on that machine is to reverse the rear lights (unbolt and place them on the inside the rops as opposed to the lights hanging on the outside of the rops, they are connected by quick plugs for easy off), because me and some of my neighbors with 2210 have managed over time to get close enough to stuff and we know for a fact they break /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I liked that idea about the tire weights also. After I poured the concrete in my Ballast box I did think that it would be nice to have the option of less weight.

I also find that an implement on the back does a great job. It doesn't have to be that heavy either since they usually stick out a lot further than the BB so they get some leverage on the tractor. I'm betting that my 72" rear blade (goes way back) that's maybe 300lbs gets enough leverage to counter the front weight as much as my 700# BB up close.

It is a lot easier to swing and hit stuff with the rear implement though... . /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
