New 2011 Cub Cadet Garden Tractor!!

They make these decks with the "One Size Fits All" design. You can bag, mulch or discharge with the same deck. I mostly discharge. Just blow and go!
I mainly use the bagger for leaf clean up in the fall. I am not really impressed with how it mounts to the deck. I wish it connected like John Deer baggers do. On Mine I have to stop every now and then to make sure the chute doesn't come off.
As far as the mulch plug is concerned, I have never used it and most likely never will.

Yeah, I didn't mind the plastic mulch plug with my 2544. My grass (or closely-cropped weeds) is never thick enough to be an issue and I LOVED that mulch plug for leaf-grinding in the fall. That's probably why my 2544 left such an awesome cut for me; because of my type of 'grass'.

In regards to these new fab'd decks for 2011, I'd assume they're like my 2010. No more mulch plug. You have to purchase a mulching kit which is a steel baffle set, bolts and hardware. The deck has to be removed, inverted and stuff removed/replaced. Once it's on. It's on! It's over $100 for the kit. I've been tempted, but I don't like the thought of having to pull the deck to do wrenching to go from mulching to blasting and back.

Joel, I think you are right on the 2011 fab decks being like yours. They look so similar. I guess we'll find out!
Do you get alot of grass clippings on the top of your Z force deck? I get alot on top of my 2518. It's more of a pain than anything. Good thing for air compressors!

Yep, the whole machine gets dirty with every mow. The fab'd 44 does seem to be easier to clean up, up top, but a little harder to clean up underneath than the stamped 44. It's more like an inverted roasting pan with more squared off edges and whatnot. I jack the front up after every use and scrape the underside.

I'd guess because it is cheaper than hydraulic ps and lift.

I was just on the Cub Cadet website. Looks like the new Series 2000 line will be added to the mix. The 2500 and 3000 series were still there.

/ New 2011 Cub Cadet Garden Tractor!! #68
Yes, I dunno why they still have the 2500's and 3000's listed on the site. As far as I know those units went out of production around June 2010 and are being replaced with the new 2K series.

Look at the cost between a 2542 and the 2000. If I remember correctly the cost is the same and you get a deck with the 2500 and a larger engine.

I know which way I'd go.

New to the forum but not new to Cub Cadet. The New GT2000 just arrived and looks to be a decent tractor. Cub Cadet been swapping more model numbers than i swap on price quotes it seems lately. The GTX2000 has been replaced with the GTX2100 well almost....that was just changed to a GT2100 and will offer an electric lift. The only garden tractor model that will offer the electric steering is the GTX2154LE.. The prices as of 3-14-2011 are as follows:

GT2000 MAP 3,599-3,999
GT2100 MAP 4,999-5,499
GTX2154LE MAP 6,999

4 year /300hr warranty

My first post , hope it was informative

My understanding is that the GTX2100 has been pulled from production due to steering issues. I've talked to 3 dealers so far and they've all been told that the GTX2100 is now on hold, with no delivery date yet. Have not been able to find out what the actual problem with it is yet. But the fact that Cub has pulled all mention of the 2100 from their web site means they aren't going to be showing up any time soon. I suspect it's probably supplier related, otherwise they would have pulled the 2154LE as well because it has power steering.

The GTX2100 model number has changed to GT2100. It will not have the power steering only electric lift. Sales meeting in 2 days ..hope to have more details

Will be interested to hear what the price drop will be. Basically the 2100 with have electric lift and optional fabricated decks over the 2000, and that's it as far as I can tell. And because the decks are priced separately already, that should drop a good $1000 off the base 2100 price.

Map prices as of 3/16/2011

GT 2000 ........3099.00 Deck optional
GT 2100 ........4499.00 Deck optional
GTX 2154LE.......6999.00 price with 54" FAB DECK, power steer, electric lift

Deck options:

42 stamped........500.00 GT2000 & GTX2100 Series
50 stamped........700.00 GT2000 & GTX2100 Series
54 stamped........900.00 GT2000 & GTX2100 Series

48 fab...............900.00 GTX2100 "series"
54 fab...............1000.00 GTX2100 "series"

The GT 2100 should be able to use the Fab decks because it will have electric lift

So far the GT2000 appears to be a hot selling tractor because of price and the looks of quality. I would buy early if considering one of these models, Sold (2) already only one week after factory delivery and have leads on the third unit. Tanks L & M have intrest too. Cub Cadet attachments are a little confusing with all the model changes ..be easy on your salesman and buy from a reputable dealer to avoid ordering nightmares.

That's not bad, but those deck prices are INSANE. $500 for a 42"?? Cub is crazy. The 42" should be included in the 3099.00 price w/ incremental increases for larger deck sizes.

Heck, if the fabricated 44" deck on my 2010 model year Z-Force is worth ~$800 or so, I'm pulling it off and selling it! :)

Your deck does retail for about $800 (replacement cost), so I don't think these prices are out of line. And they are a TON cheaper than the 3000 series decks. Granted, those were shaft drive, but still the 3000 series 54" deck went for around $1500 (list).

The REAL interest here is how much room the dealers have to wiggle on the price. If this is traditional Cub, then the dealers will make about $50 per deck :). But if they've taken any cues from Cub/Yanmar, then there is a lot more profit built into the list price, and thus a lot more room for the dealer to deal.

My local dealer didn't have any 2011 GT2000 or 2100 Cubs in yet today.

I ended up taking a late 2010 GT2544 off their showroom.

Model year clearance sales for the win!

I'm with ya, but as much as I love the 3000 series Cubs, I wouldn't necessarily call them a sales success. I bet your average dealer was lucky to sell 1-2 a year. I guess what I'm saying is, why go down this road again? You average (non-TBN) garden tractor buyer is going to want a deck included as a standard item. Sure, up-charge for larger size decks, that's awesome to have that option for a single series machine.

I'm sure you're right with the ~$50 profit per deck. They're probably lucky to get that.

Soooo....for 2011, do I understand it to be Cub will offer the 1000 series, and this new 2100 series as the only offering for lawn & garden tractors

If so, definitely slimming down and simplifying the series!

They off the 1000, 2000/2100, the i-series zero-turn tractors, and a couple of normal zero turn mowers.
