Needing Help

Hello,
I am in need of some construction work. I was foolish in my first selection of people to the work, I had paid 1/2 down with the rest to be paid after completed. The results was little to no work done, lost of supplies. Some told me to try and fine Amish workers because they are very fair in pricing and their work is wonderful. So here I am hoping to catch a break before I break.

sorry for your problems. The first thing is that anyone familiar with the construction process does....NEVER pay more than 10% down, or just pay for the parts upon job stocking. Most of these guys are only making 15-20% anyways, and if you pay them 50% up front, there better off not doing the job (the unscrupulous ones).

Im an electrical contractor, i get 0% on contract signing, 60% AFTER rough electrical is completed and 40% upon completion. I pick and choose my clients/contractors, and this has worked for me for more years than i care to remember. Gets most of my work thru referrals.

Hello, and thank you for your expertise and kindness. I wish I had known this before hiring these people. I am so over whelmed at the moment that I can not seem to focus enough to give a respond of my needs. Again I thank you for your kindness, and when I have my emotions in check I will be back.

Not sure what state you live in or what your contracting laws are there. If the contractor has to be licensed than the contractors licensing board is the place to start. If they have to be bonded you can attach their bonds and effectively put them out of business until your issues are resolved. Good luck.
