I need some 50 amp plugs to use for my generator. It has no plugs just lugs as it is a big diesel unit. I need some type of weatherproof female connector to mount on the generator, in my shop, and a weatherproof male to mount on my work trailer. The cord will have a male and a female end.

I need something quaility as this will be connected and disconnected weekly and will see very near the 50 amp load.

Weather proof female connectors in a box are pretty easy to find but I am not finding much for male connectors in a box.

They are a common item. I just saw them yesterday at HD. Some RV type hookups can go up this high but it’s more common to have a screw together type.

Not sure what type you want to do but this website should point you in the right direction-

5 Amp RV Locking Power Cordset

They have several other items depending on your needs.

What you are looking for is a NEMA 14-50P Inlet box. That is a Twist lock connection with 4 prongs and if you get a waterproof inlet box it is waterproof as well.
On your shop you will need a female waterproof Outlet that way you can have two Hots a neutral and a ground going out to your trailer.
Then on your generator you will need the female version of that with the neutral and the ground tied together inside the plug.

Reliance Controls PB50 or PBN50.
Or a PK50 if you want to flush mount it into the side of the trailer: Robot Check

Reliance Controls PB50 or PBN50.

This is the way to go. I have never installed the PBN50 but have put in many PB30 and PB50 this is how we install almost all non automatic generator setups. Just a warning the PB50 is tight as far as wire space is concerned, I had never seen a PBN and I might give that a try on the next generator. These are for 120/250vac single phase, you didn't say the voltage but if the generator is 3 phase or 277/480vac (also 3 phase) then this is not the plug you want. I only ask because if you are regularly using a generator of this size it could be you have tools that require this and not because the shop has no utility power.
