Need Oil

I have a John Deere 950 that the manual calls for J D Hy Guard transmission and hydraulic oil. I need to just top off the the oil so I don't need a lot and also live 70 miles from the nearest dealer, can I find a suitable replacement at my local auto parts store?

More likely to find something at a Farm Supply Store. You want something that meets JDM J20C specs.

NAPA sells Valvoline Premium UTF that meets HyGard and J20C spec. They may sell others too.

Walmart sells hydro oil that meets JD specs.

Most any auto parts store sells hydraulic fluid that meets JD specs. You just have to read the labels.
