Need Help Hydraulics Deere 400

I have John Deere riding lawn mower 400. The hydroustatic transmission seems to work good. The hydraulics for lift the deck are very slow, power steering is very week. Switch it over to the snow blower last week, and it does not have enough power to lift the snow blower up. How do i determine what my problem is? Pump, valve, cylinder on the blower? I have a good understanding of hydrauilcs, but have never repaired one. Guessing that i should set up some sort of gauge, but have no idea what pressure i should even have. Need some directions, thanks Jeff

Check jdparts.deere.com. It takes a little bit to figure your way around, but you can buy a technical manual for your machine. It will have troubleshooting and repair proceedures as well as all the specs. You can also goto their online parts manual to see exploded views of all areas of the machine with part numbers. Both are valuable resources.
