Y'all are going to hate me... After all the questions and hand wringing, I hired it out yesterday... I talked to the building erector and he said he would take it from where I have it, dig the footers, larger piers for the uprights, lay the plastic and wire, tie the rebar, pour and finish for $2.00/sqft. That is an acceptable trade off for me not having to do the work I think. He also has the materials for forming and a machine to dig. I would have had to buy more materials for forms and rent a machine so the price looks better and better.

I just added the 2x4s to the pile of lumber being used to frame my house so they will not go to waste.

hey, it was a good thread while it lasted, got some interesting info out there.
IMO you've made a good decision, some things are better farmed out.
