Wow, very nice Edward! That's some serious meat on that thing!

Shes pretty beefy, I love the corner post exhaust. So much MORE visibility. :) I just want to drive it now as we speak.

Well, no tractor for me today. Didn't show up. I wonder what route the driver is taking to travel the 7 hours from GA to VA? He must have a lot of out of the way deliveries on the way!

I spoke to the dealer about the pre-delivery inspection that they complete before I can pick it up. They put it on a PTO dyno for about 1 hour and run it at various RPMs and loads and go everything over to make sure there are no leaks or anything like that. They also check all fluid levels before and after the run-in. I think he said their PTO dyno is good for 300HP and that once I fully break it in, I'm welcome to bring it back in for another dyno run to see how big an increase there is. Cool stuff!

Sounds like you got the same truck driver I got to deliver my 110! I did the math and he was traveling less than 200 miles a day to get from MT to MI.

I would like to see the HP kick after the break in - be some interesting results! Hopefully it comes in soon:thumbsup:

Well.. it's reassuring to hear that the dealer is a "full service" outfit! They're wanting to make sure you're gonna be happy with your new tractor. That's worth a whole lot!

Stopped by the dealer at lunch time and still no 5085M.

I guess it will be first of next week, hopefully. I did see this H340 that he just got in. Other than mounting the brackets on the tractor, it appears that the H series come fully assembled on the pallet.

I did unbox all my options and can't wait to spend a little quality installing these once I get my tractor home.

Everything came with fully detailed install manuals so the installs should be very simple.

pclausen;

Time is money... Granted, the optional equipment that you've laid out on the garage floor is not overly technical to install. So, the question of the day - how much did your dealer "allow" you for installation time - as opposed to his mechanics time?

I; for one, didn't realize that dealers would "work with you" on some of the work to install the more basic options.

Might be an "option" that other's would take up on their new tractor purchase, too.

Thanks.

Good question AK!

My original quote showed $1400 for "setup" I think. It is now $400 for just the loader (which I'm still debating doing myself, especially after seeing that H340), but that aside, So I'm looking at saving $1000 worth of setup fees by installing these options myself. Once I remove the necessary panels, it should only take 1 hour to install/run all needed wiring, so total install time is going to be 2-3 hours by my estimation, which on an hourly basis would work out to about $333/hr.

Wow... that's quite a payday! Er, half-day... $1,000!

Well, worth having a "negotiation" with your local dealer when making a deal to buy!

I think he's doing his own innstall for the fun of working on his new machine.
With your lift, I would do the loader install! :D Not everyone is as well equipped to do the install as you are

Hard to say which is worse waiting on the tractor or waiting on the options. At least you will not be waiting on the dealer to do the installs. Plus you will have all the instructions for future reference. I doubt they get passed on to the buyer.

There's definitely some truth to that! Another main reason is that I'd rather take my time and to it right than have some apprentice rushing through it at the dealer, possibly breaking/scratching a panel in the process.

Very true. I've read through them all now, and I'm real impressed with the level of detail.

Here's the whole collection. The real fancy one is for the EH right side switch. :D

And an example of the installation instructions.

All the manuals that have anything to do with the electrical, includes the picture/illustration of how to disconnect the negative battery terminal. Kinda makes you concerned about the assumed skill of the JD Tech that is the intended audience.

Still no tractor. The tracking number shows it should have been delivered on 5/2, which would be consistent with when the dealer was invoiced. However, when dealer called factory, they said the tracking number didn't mean anything.

Tracking number did show one stop in North Carolina before my dealer in Virginia. Its 434 miles from Augusta, GA to Fishersville, VA. So assuming the truck is only driving during weekdays for 8 hours per day, that is working out to about 10 miles per hour so far!

At this rate, I just might get my pole barn/shop extension done before it gets here. Got the trusses today.

trusses-02.jpg

Unstrapped and oriented properly for installation. I had to cut the straps and manually move them one at a time. Not super heavy, but very bulky.

All tucked up to keep them safe from the rain. Is it just me, or does it always rain when you are about the receive a new tractor?

All the metal roofing and siding showed up yesterday. It's amazing how little volume it takes up when stacked together. But it sure is heavy!

Dealer called me after speaking with the factory in Augusta, GA. My tractor has been sitting on a trailer since 5/1 waiting on a truck/driver to become availabe to make the trip up to VA. No estimate yet on when it will leave the factory. This is really starting to get annoying now. :smiley_aafz:

How many days are you past the original quoted delivery date? I'm wondering if I add that to my June 20Th quote if I can get a rough idea of when mine might actually arrive. Will I have to contract for snow removal until it gets here for Christmas?
They can't collect any payments until they deliver to you .You would think they would be Johny on the spot. I just don't see any profit to them in the delays.

You should ask if it's not delivered by a certain date, it should be free! Just like the pizza commercials on tv.

The original delivery date was 5/14, BUT it went into assembly ahead of schedule on 4/28 or something like that and was done and sitting on the trailer ready to be delivered by 5/1. This is when the dealer got invoiced, which in their experience with tractors from Augusta, GA meant it would show up within 2 days.

You right that it would be in their best interest to get it to me as soon as possible so that they get paid. I'm still cautiously optimistic it will be here by Friday.

Ouch that means you ordered on 1/18 for 5/14 +/- delivery from Georgia. That probably puts my mid April order to India on track for September some time!!!

Trucking company called the dealer this morning saying that my tractor is being delivered (to the dealer) today! Keeping my fingers crossed it will actually happen.

Very good news! :D Good to see continuing progress on your building, too!

Hard to tell which is "springing" up faster - the green grass and the tree leaves or the building!

Enjoy your pictures...

Tractor arrived at the dealer! I stopped by and drove it around the lot for a bit and boy does it feel nice and tight! A lot more "compact" like than I would have thought. That might be coming from the 6405 and New Holland loaners. The gear shifts are really nice and crisp, brakes amazing, and not a single rattle cruising at WOT! :D

Can't wait to pick it up tomorrow after they get done with the pre-delivery inspection and dyno run!

It came standard with a radio and there are shades that pull over the glass sun roof as well as the front windshield.

Here are some pics I took with my phone.

Man I'm excited for you! What a sweet tractor! I didn't know that the cabs came with a sunroof! This is what I want or maybe a 5075M. Send us some pics tomorrow when you get her home.
