April/May is what I'm being told. Hopefully it will be sooner, but that is what the computer says right now.

That is just a green piece of metal trim that I moved outside. I can see how it almost looks like it it part of the hoe in that picture.

Yeah, this 6405 quite rough around the edges. I noticed that the cab is very dusty. I guess either it was used with the rear/side windows open a lot working bare dirt, or these things don't have sealed cabs.

Same time for mine. I'm told that around April 18/19 for me. Just one month of ordering today.

It probably has seals, just that their dry rotted out. (correct term?)

I like working with the back window open. :D

One of my close friends that are farmers just got his JD 5101E Limited W/ 542 SL loader jacked.. Don't know how it happened. Sad that it did. He lives on the same property with it, impossible to not to hear it running.

AK,
Here's a couple of pics of the subframe. It's pretty sturdy; it weighs almost 600lbs. alone. The complete unit weighs close to 3000lbs.
Wow, that does look very study! Had it not been for the opportunity to pick up this Woods 3pt hoe for a really good price, I would have likely gotten a used mini ex down the road. I looked and looked for a used 595 but never was able to locate one and a new one would run over $10k, hence the reason I was looking at a mini ex for the same price.

I spend a lot of time today pulling the pins out one at a time, and replacing grease fitting as needed (about half of them were rusted shut from sitting) and re-greased everything.

Now I just need to get the bucket back, and I'll be able to play with this thing. I also plan to talk to MIE about making me a ripper like this to help with the stump removal:

My guess is that the A/C is out, and it was run with the windows open. You probably haven't needed the A/C lately. :D

Actually, I've found that the JD cabs are about the best. This past hay season, (if you could even call it a hay season) I worked mine in the dustiest conditions that I've ever seen. There were times that I couldn't even see my hay baler. But, I never saw any dust entering the cab. Just what I tracked in with my boots.

I don't know how much Zebrafive's 6415 costs but I rather take that than the 6405.

For those interested MY 6415 is open station, MFWD, PowerQuad, PowrReverser. Two rear SCVs, Joystick and two Mid ICVs, JD 640 SL loader, 90KG frt starter weight, hood guard, extendable lower three point links, front fenders (which I took off), 18.4-34 rears and 13.6-24 fronts Radial tires. One owner, 2600Hours, $27,800

I wanted a MFWD 5425 with a loader, but all were in the mid to high $30K range.

Good news. I fixed the EH hitch control! Just had to clean to connector pins on the solenoid. I stopped by the dealer and they have me the missing lift arm pins and ordered me a stabilizer bar end link. No cost to me as are responsible for ensuring my loaner is in good operational condition. They were going to send out a tech tomorrow to look at the EH hitch control, so I figured I would give it another shot myself.

Bad news. I'm leaking hydraulic fluid from the PTO shaft. I'd say a at least a couple of ounces every 24 hours. Is this an easy fix? I guess I'll have the dealer come out and fix that issue.

Those loader self leveling rods and brackets sure kill the view from the operator station. I'm rethinking my decision to get that feature on my H260 loader now.

On my 460 loader, I could move the joystick to like the 2 o'clock position to get an all hydraulic self leveling feature of sorts. It took practice and was slower than doing raise and curl separately. The automatic all hydraulic self-leveling option on the large Kubota's that I test drove was nice. Too bad Deere doesn't offer something like that.

Good news on the EH!

Bad news on the PTO.

I know I've love the SL on my 5410, which is just a couple generations older 5085M. I (obviously) don't have a cab but my visibility is good. Really only difference is the top bar. When I bought I was doing a lot of hay work with large square bales. I would stake 3-4 high on top of each other so I didn't want to spill them. I can say it's made life easier. I don't think that the 6405 is a good comparison for the SL. If it were me I would do the SL again. there wasn't a substantial difference in the two when I was comparing, in terms of sight. But the std. loader does have quite a bit higher capacity if you really need it.

Three point back hoes have broken the backs of many tractors. I would be looking for a way to mount with a sub frame with all the usage you have outlined.

pclausen,

I really like Gator's post and agree 100% with it.

My suggestion would be to buy the subframe for the 5m/595 and attach it to the Woods BH with a fabricated adapter that bolts to the subframe and mates with the 3ph mounts on the BH.
Then when you find a 595(or even a 49), just pretty up the Woods, sell it, get the right one and it'll bolt right on.

Personally, I would never put a three point backhoe on my tractor, even if I had the OK in writing from Deere.

Regards,

Tom

Actually, the MSL has more capacity, in some cases (lift capacity at full height), by a large margin:

Thats one nice 5410! We have the same canopy on my 5310. :p I like that manly transmission choice too. Too bad I had to crack mine open at the dealer to get a new clutch.

I wonder why the bigger H310 has a smaller dumping angle.

I like it! What model tractors will it fit?

Zebra,

I know you can put it on the 5e Limited as well as the 5m.

The 5x20 and 5x25 have the same or very similar running gear as the 5e Limited I believe, so it should fit them too.

Don't know about the 5x00 and 5x10 though.

Tom
