I hear you gator. I did a lot of research on 3pt backhoes and I agree that the consensus is to get a sub-frame. But, from everything I read, this mostly applies to Category 1 CUT type tractors, not full size tractors like the 5M series.

I talked to my dealer about it today and he said he had seen a 3000 series break in half from using a 3pt hoe and it was a very expensive repair. But he went on to say that I had nothing to worry about with my M tractor and that I could "have at it" pulling out stumps and what not. He said that Deere did not recommend and would not warranty a 3pt hoe used on a 4000 and lower frame size tractor, but went on to say that they they *would* warranty such use on a 5000 and up frame. I suppose I should get that in writing from him.

The 3pt mounting is very substantial on the BH1050 hoe:

Lot's of new toys! I'm sure the wife is loving you right now... I sure wish you were my neighbor!

On another note, what are you using to remove the moister from your air compressor? I don't see anything in the photos.

Good catch! I ordered one of these last week to install on the drain of the 80 gallon tank:

And that 3/4" pex running along the walls terminate in the middle of the shop where the 4 doors are:

Closeup showing the Milton 1/2" F.R.L. Notice how I have ball valves for raw air straight from the 80 gallon tank, regulated and oiled. This is in addition to the oiled air from the Cox hose reel.

I got the 8' rake assembled:

Pulled the bucket off the Woods hoe:

It needs a pair of new teeth. Previous owner used it without the outer teeth in place. Grrr. I'm going to take it to the JD dealer tomorrow when I pick up the 6405 loaner!

Some random shop pics. Where am I going to keep the 5085M when it gets here????

Get a picture of the hoe on the 6405. That will give me an idea how one would look on my 6415.
Also a report on how it works, if you are happy 3pt mounted.
How does it hookup hydraulicly? In a SCV set of remotes and the valve set in detent?

You've got an awesome shop and all those goodies to go with it! Do you have a plasma cutter to go along with that air compressor? :D

Spent some browsing time lookin' at the JD 595 backhoe.. It specs out very closely to the JD 110 backhoe.

I also noted that it has a sub-frame mounting system. Couldn't find any pics of the mount, though. Of course, the Deere brochure mentioned the superiority of the mounting system versus the 3pt attachment and focused on "frame stresses".

I'd be very suspect that Deere would stand behind any repairs that might be necessary if the backhoe use were to damage your new $70,000 tractor!

The regional sales rep might have a different opinion than your dealer salesman...

will you please post a pic of how your angle cylinder is going to be put on, I have a blade very similar that I want to do that too.
Ok, so it takes this real substantial piece of metal to do it. Here are some shots of the very pricey piece I got from Woods:

This piece is 3/4" steel.

Here is a drawing of how it all connects:

The 1050 has a 540 PTO pump. I plan to "experiment" a lot with the 6405 tractor. :D

True. Since I bough the Woods 1050 from a local farmer, the deere dealer has no skin in the game. Yet he tells me not to worry. Why would he do that if there was a chance that this 6000 lbs breakout force hoe would tear up the tractor?

My sales guys has been doing this for 20 years and everyone at this dealership comes to him when they can't figure something out. I tend to take his advice. I should get something in writing I suppose.

I do not want to crack my 5085M in half! Then again, I might just be done with all the heavy duty stuff by the time if finally shows up!
