A morning picture of the river that runs through the town we live in. Our house is about 300 feet to the left of the lower right of the picture.:D :D

Nice pics. Does the water level fluctuate much? Does it freeze over in the winter?

About 8 years ago, the spouse and I took a ride through on up to Halifax. I remember remarking at the time how nice the people were that we encountered. Amazingly beautiful scenery.

The area in which the picture was taken is tidal. At times it will freeze. About 4 years ago winter conditions, rain and ice jambs almost removed the bridge in the picture.:D

I like MY TOWN!!:D :D

Egon, do you live on a little bluff over the river? As I remember, your driveway slopes up from the street as it goes to the back of your house and by your driveway garden.

Nice river and nice area. I like your little town too...but I won't visit in the winter.;)

Jim, on one of the pictures you will see a balcony with umbrellas. That location is "The River Pub" with good food. Downstream from that are two adjacent white buildings. We live about 300 feet up the hill from the last one.:D :D

In my original post there is an oops! It should read 300 feet to the right.

Mornin Egon,
Well Im glad that I got the update on your location from your last response to Jim ! Because from your first description, 300 ft to the left of the lower right of the picture, put you in my mind smack in the middle of the river !!! ;) Im so glad you dont live on the bottom of the river bed, and I dont have to refer to you as "Davey Jones" in future correspondence ! :)

And I can also see the front of the River Pub from the sun room. I'm considering walking over in a couple of hours for a greasy burger!:D

The 300 feet to the left would almost put us in the nice white river side house that has a dock with several boats tied to it.:D

About a week ago we went over for supper. That was the first time in 5 years I'd been in the place. Before that there were maybe 2 or 3 visits. :D :D

Egon, I get my left and right mixed up all the time too.;) My wife hates it when I give her directions.:D

I was looking at those buildings in the second picture right beside the pub and thinking of Scotty's thread about ladders. How would you like to paint those buildings? I'd bet they let down a platform from the roof like window washers. Is the unpainted area at the bottom because of tidal variation?
