My solution to the ROPS pin

Stress on the pins during a roll over probably isn't that high. For a true sheering break you would have to roll upside down and then slide forward forcing the top half of the roll bar to try to fold down.

Interesting that they would put a cat 2 on a tractor that couldn't fit it.
I'm going to assume that you must have the one piece wheels on yours.

No, it has the two piece wheels. I wasn't thinking about that when I mentioned the spacers.

The point is, I don't want the tractor any wider than it is, 6 feet. The blower is 78 inches wide so I want the tires inside of that and I don't need chains so no need to move them out.

Ok, UPS delivered the modified pins from my son.

I had to drill out the hole for my lynch pins. The hair pins that came with them were really small.

I installed them on the tractor. The pin does not insert completely (planned) as it is stopped when the 5/8" diameter reaches the threads of the welded on nut. The 9/16" portion continues through the nut and the lynch pin secures it. There is ~1/8" of play before the lynch pin hits the frame of the rops. The 5/8" diameter portion is still completely through the frame.

No more 'screwing around"!

Thanks Adam!

If they vibrate you can always put an o-ring or two on the pin so they compress slightly when you put the pin in.

Could the ROPS vibrate enough to shift slightly when the pin is out and make re-insertion of the factory pin difficult or impossible?
