Do all of the CUT's out there (JD, NH, Kub, ect) suffer from the same lack of protection to critical components?

I think those other manufacturers have blacklisted Eric, so we may never find out..... :D

I haven't read through this entire thread (I'd need to take a week off work) but from what I have seen, I don't know whether to be encouraged or afraid of the durability and engineering of a Kioti NX series. Seems like every post I looked at was a discussion about a broken part or fixing a broken part:shocked: Do all of the CUT's out there (JD, NH, Kub, ect) suffer from the same lack of protection to critical components?
The NX is reliable. It isn't a bulldozer or combat vehicle however and like other CUTs is likely to suffer when used as such.

I've never used my NX as a bulldozer. Not even once.

At any-rate, I had to armor up the underside of my tractor in order to be able to use my rotary cutter in reverse without damaging anything from the underside.

Proper technique for rotary cutting is coming at brush in reverse in small bites so as to not expose the tractor's sides to branches and being wary of running over any uncut brush.

I cannot speak to the other OEMs other than I thought the Massey was built just a little more robust. Even so, the NX represented a better value and has the best control layout of all the cab-on models in the class. Control lay-out was a major factor for me as I have a really bad back and do do well leaning forward or twisting to reach controls.

I can see you'd wonder that. It's quite a thread, that's for sure! Well worth the read, though, IMO.

As I recall, Eric bought his NX after a lot of research to commercially develop some heavily-wooded lakefront property in Nevis. He's done a lot of clearing and cutting in of new access roads and drainage, most it single-handed as time allowed. Plus more routine work like snow removal and rotary cutting. As another NX owner, I like to follow the thread because it pushes the envelope on what can be done with a cabbed CUT, as well as some of his attachments and implements in some pretty demanding use.

Speaking of, the clapped-out dock is in.

And the property is getting pretty.

We always took the brush head on with the 50's tractors, if you could drive over/push the tree/brush the cutter would finish the job. My favorite tractor for brush cutter was an old MF 85 but we cut plenty of brush with AC wd's. These tractors didn't have any wires underneath and lots of iron. The mowers usually have heavier iron at the leading edge.

Looks like Doosan will be providing not only engines for Daedong (Kioti) but Tong Yang Moolsan (TYM) and therefore Kukje (Branson) also. Also these engines will not have DPF filters. That will be cool.

TYM has been buying Doosan engines for their 105 hp tier IV tractors all along. Branson does not have a 100 hp tractor.

Something new arrived.
If you want those times to stay straight, be careful using it in land clearing. I've bent the crap out of mine accidentally snagging stumps and rocks. Even bent the frame.

I think rakes are great as finish tools to gently spread loam or gravel but keep it away from rough areas.
