My new L4600

In working to get my shredder set up to the new tractor, I raised and lowered it quite a bit while making linkage adjustments (basically engine at idle and sitting on a concrete pad trying to get it adjusted)...very smooth (lift and drop) and easy to control position. Later mowed about 3 acres and did not have any problems that I could feel or detect running at about 2000 RPM (manual says not to run at PTO speed for the first 50 hours...true?) and picking up shredder at the turns (while messing with the setup realized my tail wheel bearing was shot so was running shredder in the skids w/o the tail wheel).

Did ask my dealer about the "jerky" 3pt...he thought it was possibly related to the position of the valve under the seat used to control the rate the 3 pt drops. Can't say myself if related at all.

Thanks, I am glad you do not have the jerky 3 pt hitch syndrome. As for the dealer, I will assure him it is not related to the 3pt drop rate valve.. If you have a few days, use the search function (above) and put in jerky or something like that, and read for days..about L series jerky 3pt hitch problems and the attempts to repair and the stoic Kubota refusal to admit it even exist's..Chilly807 recently spent a lot of time trying to solve this problem on his own, with a lot of interesting results.. Good luck with that new tractor, it is a beauty. If you are so inclined you could put some pickup bed liner material on those floorboards. I did that about 18 months ago and it was a great modification in my estimation. Take care.

I'd ask the dealer this question, 50 hours can be a long time, at 2-3 hours a week for us weekend warriors. I too am "upgrading" from nothing to the L3240 (grand), as it fits my requirements. Enjoy that new tractor.

Congrats! Very Nice!

If I hadn't just got a great deal on a L3800DT, this is what I'd have bought.

Thank you all for the comments...worked with it all day today (mostly shredding and pulling an aerator) and really enjoying the HST and the power sterring (did not realize how much I had to work with my previous tractor). Need to fill my tires before starting any loader work...start that process early next week.

Congratulations on your new L4600. Just bought one today also. Will be delivered next week!! It's gonna be a big change from my old AC 5020. Although I'll still cut the yard with the 5020.
