Nice job on the walls, around here we have keystone blocks, they use fiberglass pegs to lock them to the lower row.
They are around $7.50 ea . What do yours cost?

Thanks Dave... I am using Allen blocks and they are costing me about $9ea. Ouch! But I like the design, how they index but not the weight... about 80lb They do require some chisel work for curves. Outside curves are easy as you just score and knock off the wings. Inside curves take a lot more effort. Maybe I will take a few detail pics to show what is necessary.

Okay lilranch... here is the proof! Actually feel pretty good about progress... Now the question is whether a third wall will be in the plans (making them up as I go along)

Not including caps... about 7.5 pallets at 40 per... so 300 blocks for the two walls.:thumbsup: So hand stacking about 24,000lb of concrete. I need a beer!

Okay sort of update on retaining walls r us... I am now preparing for wall number 3 and 4. The first two walls are done and ready for some topsoil for vegetable garden. 3in top caps cut and installed. Purchased a HF 10in tile saw for the angle cuts. The next walls will be on left looking up the hill. First chore is start cutting in some flat areas and roughly figuring where the walls will go... making it up as I go.



Low area on the left is my drain field. First road cut in on the right...


Hardest part is making an entry and getting flat area to level up the FEL to start digging.

Thanks 4shorts... I have to say the BX was sort of an impulse buy! Wife and I were at the Kubota dealer (again) mainly because my neighbor who just turned 80 and still a go getter (his house is in the background of the first photo) said... you got to check out the these little 4WD drive tractors!!! I am receiving so much joy helping him out on his property too. Do you think he, in his wisdom knew how to get his chores done when he said go check the BX out? :laughing: I think he reeled me in... :fishing:
