Thanks for all the input! A third function valve is the only mod I'd need to have installed on the tractor (not counting the hydraulic lines) to operate a front grapple, correct?

Correct. And a button on the joystick to control it and some wiring to go along with the valve/hoses

Diverter valve is another option.

Or if you have remotes, and the levers are in a convenient place, some people opt to run long hoses from a remote as well if they already have them....save some $$$ doing so
