Being vertically challenged but NOT horizontally challenged, the step on my MX5800 gets used every time. I noticed it bends back and hits the frame and has rubbed the paint already. I was going to look at bracing it some.

I thought I'd see if anyone else has done a mod or thinks the step is a little flimsy?

At 6' 3" & 250 lbs, the steps on all my Kubotas have seemed flimsy. This includes my MX5800. I've thought about reinforcing them in the past but never needed to do it. They flex quite a bit but I haven't bent or broken one yet.

My Steps on my MX5800 are solid as a rock.
Check and see if all of the bolts are tightened properly.

If my step moved and the bolts were tight I would brace it some how.

Working stresses can cause metal fatigue and cracking

Random question. Anyone with a mx5800, how tall from ground to top of hood? R1 or r4 tires. Thank you

I'll check but I believe everything is tight, it's just where they are bolted, my step seems to lean in towards the tractor and then hits the frame and becomes solid. I don't think I would have noticed they moved, if it wasn't for the rub mark on the frame from the step bracket to be honest.

With FEL & implement on the ground and R4 tires, the measurement is 56" to the top of the fuel filler cap, the highest point on the hood.

My step looks like this:

With my weight on it, the support bracket clears the frame by 1/2". I wouldn't recommend bracing it by attaching to the frame. The deck and step are isolated from the frame to minimize vibration and noise.

Mine is the same, except the front bracket contacts the frame when I climb up. I'll probably just put some rubber on the bracket to prevent it from taking the paint off.

Most interesting - bought my Kubota M6040 - new in July, 2009. Two months later I get a phone call from dealer. There has been a factory upgrade to the step to reinforce it. They were out within the week and completed the upgrade. A Rhino could use the step and cause no problems now.
